I'm not a beer drinker, but I do make exceptions for dark, full bodied beers like stouts and porters (since there's discernible flavor). Redhook Brewery based in Seattle has a seasonal beer called Out of Your Gourd Pumpkin Porter, described as a "dark ale brewed with pumpkin, spices, and maple syrup."
This is a rich, roasty stout-like beer with just a slight sweetness. The pumpkin flavor is subtle and almost comes across as chocolately, and as a coffee lover, I definitely liked its dark brown smoothness. It's a perfect seasonal beer that's ready for October parties (and even for those eating parties in November). And take a look at the packaging: rich orange and black with a headless person, jack-o-lanterns, bats, and spooky trees. This is a beer for the Halloween community!
